The US Navy gave Lockheed Martin $40.3 million modification contract for TRIDENT II (D5) missile production and deployed systems support.

Work is expected to be completed Sept. 30, 2024.

This is on top of the $495 million given In October, under the same contract.

The Trident II D5 Submarine-Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM) is a three-stage, solid-propellant, inertial-guided ballistic missile. It can carry multiple independently targeted re-entry bodies for a maximum range of over 7,360km.
